Distinct from the Town of Chevy Chase, Chevy Chase Village is a town in its own right located south of Chevy Chase (Town), and bordering the District of Columbia. The village is bisected by Connecticut Avenue and Chevy Chase Circle serves as the village hub. Many of the villages 700 or so homes pre-date World War II, though there are some more modern homes, as well as townhouses. Housing styles are varied, though the colonial style predominates, followed by tudor. Lot sizes tend to average a quarter acre, and home prices are considered to be among the most expensive in Maryland, and the village’s real estate prices are consistently ranked as among the most expensive in America. The average home sales price tops $2 million, with recent listings ranging from $1.9 million to $2.5 million.
While the village itself offers few commercial services, its location on the main arteries of Connecticut Avenue and Western Avenue provide residents with easy road access to anywhere in Montgomery County or Northwest Washington, DC. Public school options include Chevy Chase Elementary, Somerset Elementary, Rosemary Hills Elementary, Westland Middle and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High.
